IKEA Industry Novgorod
The plant IKEA Industry Novgorod was built in 2006, by the Pfleiderer group, and was acquired by IKEA Industry group in January 2013. It is situated near the oldest city of Russia - Velikiy Novgorod - which celebrated its 1150 anniversary in 2009. The choice of the plant location was based on its convenient position between the largest particle board markets in Russia - Moscow (550km) and Saint-Petersburg (200km). Good railway connections make it possible also to efficiently serve other parts of Russia and CIS countries. The high availability of low cost wood raw materials ensures high cost efficiency. Favorable conditions for investors as well as the support of local administration further improves the attractiveness of the localization.
Since 2011 the plant is a member of GFTN (The Global Forest & Trade Network) of Russia. Through its membership in the "Association of Environmentally Responsible Timber Producers at World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in Russia" the plant joins its efforts with other advanced Russian companies in the wood-working sector, to develop environmentally and socially responsible business practices and voluntary forest certification. The company is associated with the Forest Stewardship Council with contractual relationship on certification of the supply chain of timber products.
The main products of the plant are raw, sanded, particle board (RC) and melamine faced particle boards (MFC).
Today the team of the plant consists of 380 co-workers.
